A  Statement From Alexis Sahr

Like water, my work is derived from waves of emotions — any and every type. The deepest feelings and most vulnerable ones always create stunning sketches, leading to an even more stunning canvas. I love deep hues of color that make me feel warm, welcome, and calm. It's almost as if the deepest colors shine the brightest in sunlight.

I often step away from a piece and return with fresh eyes, letting time and light reveal new depth and layers. I find that my work deeply resonates within myself and tends to sway with the seasons and the way they mirror internal change. Each piece becomes a reflection of a specific moment in time.

My work is meant to be felt. Each piece holds a story, a feeling, a moment in time. Every viewer brings their own emotions and experiences to it, creating a unique version of the work. That’s the beauty of art — it remains constant, yet it changes with every life it touches.
